Model Animation:-
Stop-motion created to interact with and exist as a part of a live action world. Intercutting matte effects, and split screens are often employed to blend stop-motion characters or objects with live actors or settings.
Computer Animation:-
Including alot or a variety of techniques, the main factor being that the animation is created digitally on the computer.
2D Animation:-
Figures are created/edited on the computer using 2D bitmap graphics or created and edited by vector graphics. This includes automated computerized versions of tradtional animation techniques such as tweening, morphing, onion skinning etc...
3D Animation:-
Digitally modelled and manipulated by an animator. In order to manipulate a meshit is given a digital skeletal structure that can be used to control the mesh. This is called rigging. Well made animations can be difficult to distinguish from live action and are more commonly known and used for visual effects used for more recent movies.

Clay Animation:-
Clay Animation also known as claymation or plasticine animation often use figures. They usually also have an armature or a wire frame inside them, similar to the related puppet animation that can be manipulated in order to pose the figures. Alternatively the whole figure can be made from clay.
Eg. Morph shorts (UK,1997-2000)
Wallace and Gromit shorts (UK,1989-present)
Wallace and Gromit Curse Of The Were Rabbit
Creature Comforts

Silhouette Animation:-
Is where it's a cut-out animation in which the characters are backlit and only visible as
silhouettes.
Eg. The Adventures Of Prince Achmed (weimar republic, 1926)
Princes et Princesses (France, 2000)

Stop- motion Animation:-
This type of animation is created by physically manipulating real objects and photographing them one frame at a time to create the illusion of movement. There are also different types of stop-motion animation, usually named after the type of media used to create the animation.
Puppet Animation:-
This is puppet figures made to interact with each other in a constructed environment. Usually the puppets will have an armature inside them to keep them still and steady as well as constraining them to more at particular joints.
Eg. The Nightmare Before Christmas (US, 1993)
The Corpse Bride (US, 2005)
Coraline (US, 2009)
